Tarnish

Tarnish

Much like the result of the process, Tarnish is a mix of a dirty nickel hue, a warm gunmetal grey, and charcoal/black. It is a stunning neutral with DEPTH.

Base lineup, top to bottom:
Snowflake Sock
Snowdrift Sport
Deep Freeze DK
Nordic NSW (DK)
Toasty Tweed (DK)
Yeti Yak (DK)
Winter Worsted
Bïfrost Bulky

Tarnish refers to the process by which a metal surface loses its luster and becomes dull. This can be attributed to a number of factors, including air, sand, or moisture, but it can also be caused by the specific reaction between said surface and a specific chemical. Tarnish is considered a "surface phenomenon" - it occurs only in the top few layers of a metal surface, acting as protection for the layers beneath. It often appears as a dull grey or black coating.

Due to the nature of hand-dyed yarn, skeins can differ slightly both between and within dye lots. Alternating skeins is recommended.

While I do my best to both capture and portray accurate colourways, please note that there may be differences due to monitors.

Despite fully exhausting, washing and rinsing all skeins, to remove excess dye, some bleeding may still occur. Hand washing yarn is recommended - in cold water to limit the bleeding - and lay flat to dry.

Please note that all yarn is dyed in a pet-friendly household.
