Hoarfrost is a type of feathery frost that occurs when the water vapour in the air comes into contact with solid surfaces that are already below freezing point. Ice crystals form immediately, and with additional moisture in the air, the interlocking crystal patterns of frost become more intricate and much larger, building up to a greater depth on trees, signs, fences, etc.
This collection was created in collaboration with the amazing Devon @stitches.and.science - it's her beautiful face you see in the flatlay! All of the inspiration photos are from her and her colleague, from their time in Greenland and on Baffin Island during their studies. She has a Ph.D. in geological studies and is currently working in climate policy.
